Overview
Radionuclide Viewer (RV) is a tool for viewing the DCFPAK radiological data provided by Oakridge National Laboratories. Radionuclide Viewer allows a user to select a radionuclide and visualize its full decay chain and basic data (half life, decay modes, etc.). In addition to this, Radionuclide Viewer allows for the viewing of all the various dose coefficients for the selected radionuclide or its daughters.
Features
- Includes DCFPAK 2015, containing six different vintages of data with published coefficients ranging from years 1983 to 2015.
- Select a radionuclide and visualize its decay chain.

Release Notes
Radionuclide Viewer: 4.6.1
(GitLab 918) Fixed an issue where DCFPAK was installed under the wrong directory.
SAND2025-02729
Radionuclide Viewer: 4.6.0
(FogBugz 103624) Updated OIL related values in DCFPAK and DCFPAK file name.
(GitLab 6781) Fixed issue where the Airborne Partition of different chemical forms of Iodine should have summed to 1.0 but did not due to rounding errors in the code.
(FogBugz 104101) Made miscellaneous updates and improvements to support updates to dependent projects.
(FogBugz 104085) Updated the Java version to Java 21 and related third-party libraries.
SAND2025-00795W
Radionuclide Viewer: 4.5.0
(FogBugz 102706) Made miscellaneous updates and improvements to support other dependent projects.
SAND2024-00675W
Radionuclide Viewer: 4.4.0
(102082) Made miscellaneous updates and improvements to support other dependent projects
(102133) Removed third party libraries that are not used any more by the code base.
(100963) Removed code that supported web-deployed versions of software.
(101771) Standardized layout and position of information in About panels.

Radionuclide Viewer: 4.3.0
(25159) The path location of the DCFPAK database is now shown on the DCFPAK Options panel. Users no longer need to click "Manage DCFPAK Data" to see the location.
(101459) Fixed an issue where a modification to the DCFPAK database location would still get saved even if the user clicked "Cancel". Now the previous/original database location is preserved if "Cancel" is chosen by the user.
(25159) Removed the header from the top of Radionuclide Viewer because it provided no real benefit to the user and it occupied screen real estate. Also revised the home panel to show the application's icon. Made other minor visual improvements to the home panel.

Radionuclide Viewer: 4.2.2 (2021)
(100946) A new vulnerability was discovered in Log4J since the release of Log4J v2.16.0. We have since replaced the Log4J library with version 2.17.1, which fixes all known vulnerabilities for Log4J to date.

Radionuclide Viewer: 4.2.1 (2021)
(100799) A critical vulnerability was discovered in the Log4J library. The likelihood of this vulnerability being exploited in this application is very low. However, this library existed in the codebase and has been replaced with the patched version issued by Apache. Read further for more details. Log4J is an open-source logging library used by apps and services across the Internet. Logging is a process where applications keep a running list of activities they have performed, which can later be reviewed in case of error. The vulnerability is designated as CVE-2021-44228. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to gain control over vulnerable targets. To perform remote code execution, an attacker only needs to send a simple malicious request that contains a formatted string. This formatted string is then picked up by the Log4J library and executed. The result is an attacker's ability to cause Log4j to connect to a service controlled by the attacker to download and execute arbitrary code (likely malicious).

Radionuclide Viewer: 4.0.0 (2020)
(100053) Updated Radionuclide Viewer to work with the new DCFPAK 4.0 database. The software now allows the user to switch to any vintage of the DCFPAK.
(43996) The software now allows the last bin to be removed.
(25169) Fixed the unit combo box to allow displaying the release fraction in % and fraction.
(25153) Radionuclide viewer now shows inhalation dose coefficients for vapors and gas.
(22317) The search box now behaves like the Mixture Panel and does auto-complete on the radionuclide being typed.
